Liquid Talc - OK I give up!!

HELP!! - I know it is out there somewhere, I have used it before, and I don't mean £5.00 for a small quantity which will last for one foot for one treatment. Tesco's "Skin Wisdom" liquid talc was fairly cheap and good but, according to the one in Abingdon, is no longer on their list.

Has anyone got any idea where I might find some which will not cost an arm and a leg (and a foot or two!!)

Yours more in hope than experience . . . .

I think Avent do a baby one which you might find in mothercare. No idea of the size or cost. Or you could try doing a Google search and typing in 'Liquid Talc'.

Hi and welcome. Why bother with it? I have tried all sorts of creams, oils and lotions and have finally settled on a St Ives cream that is lovely, light, easily absorbed and works really well.

You need very little cream or whatever whatsover once you have treated a few people. I now use the absolute bear minimum, just a bit on my fingers to get a bit of slippage over dry areas. I know some good therapists who use no cream whatsoever.

Give up the search is my advice!

Boots do lovely liquid talc, I use it all the time it is very cooling for the feet. and leaves the silky soft.

i am a good therapist who uses nothing!! <g> for the end massage i use a pedicure lotion from strictly professional, which has lavender, tea tree and peppermint in it... quite light, non greasy, easily absorbed.

Well, just to add to the controversy, I was taught that you shouldn't use talc at all since it's mineral not vegetable so the body treats it as a toxin to be excreted rather than a food to be absorbed. It's also found in ovarian and uterine cancers.

I use corn starch, which can also be a pain to get hold of. I don't like oils as even with a tiny amount, I find I slip more than I stimulate, so it doesn't work for me.

I visited Forest mere health farm a few weeks ago, and they were selling off a load of their own products (la zouche) for £3 each, as they were about to be re packaged. One of them was lquid talc. I bought some to give as Christmas presents, and found it be really nice, with a lovely minty, tingly fragrance. the body shop do a lemongrass foot powder lotion, it smells really nice and does exactly what it says! (if like me you are not really too keen on smelly feet!) unlike boots products, obviously body shop products are not tested on animals!
