BOOK AHEAD OF TIME is the key to get the great airfare!

I averaged about 4 inner-China flight in each of my China trip in the last 4 years. I always use www.ctrip.com to book my ticket. Most of time if you book 10 days early before you travel, you will get fares at 50% or 60% discount, sometimes as low as 80% off. I have paid full fare only if I book with 3 days of travel or flying on some routes that have very little competition. If you keep using www.ctrip.com, you will also pile up points that you can use for other stuff like hotels, getaways and etc.

i flew a few times with Hainan Airlines and China Southern (both for china inland). Booked my tickets always trough my hotel and it was still very cheap (think it was about 60 to 80 USD).

felt always save and experienced a good service on board.

Man,

go to your travel-agent and book ahead of your trip together with your hotels, if you think it´s too insecure to do it in any other way.
Even, if booked from abroad, the prices will be relatively low.

Regarding your remark about Chinese inland air-fares in general: It is not in any way qualified, because you must state as well from where to where you plan to travel.
And then keep two words in your mind:
- Inflation
- Fuel-prices
That will give you higher prices now than they may have been in the past.

so hotels and agencies? what if I want to be sure to have tix ahead of time instead of showing up that day and saying "I already have a hotel booked, how much for a tix?" I remember a website was posted here with tix ranging in 40-80 usd range for inter-China travel, all i'm getting is 177-198 usd. seems expensive for China.

Compared to Western (European) fares, fares in China are so cheap, that I fly as a rule only in business- or 1st class..
Armed with your credit-card you can even get cheap fares when buying the ticket just before you fly.
The travel-offices of the big hotels are also very helpful for getting a ticket.

In my experience all airlines operating in Mainland China are very safety-concious and professional in their attitude.

Business-class has the advaneforum.xxxe, that you most probably will be spared to sit beside any of those spitters, who spit the green-yellow ones on the floor...

going to be in China for sometime, wanted to partake in each of the cities wonders, somebody once recommended a local airline that had great fares now I can't find the post. Anybody have any good tips or websites or know of which airlines I can use to travel with in China for a decent price?
