Looking for a spa in Phoenix, AZ

I am heading out to Phoenix on Friday, and I would like to visit some great spas while I am out there to get some inspiration for my place. Instead of wandering around aimlessly, I was wondering if anyone on the board knows of any out-of-this-world, can't miss - spas there. I would hate to come home and find out I miss THE spa!

I found this posting too late to help, as I am here in the Phoenix area. However, I don't visit the spas here and I am wondering what you found and what you thought? Thanks!

My reason for going to Phoenix was to visit one of my best friends who just had quadruplet girls! While I was there, one of her babies was experiencing complications, therefore we spent the entire time in the NICU. It was an amazing experience! I had left my 20 lb baby boy in the morning, and that afternoon I was holding a 3lb baby girl! What an adjustment! There were somewhere around 70-75 other teeny tiny newborns in the NICU with us. Those of us that have healthy babies really should be grateful.

So, to make a long story short...spa visits were the very last thing on our list of priorities. I was very impressed however at how they gave the parents lessons on infant massage and stressed the importance on doing it to improve their weight gain. Two thumbs up!

Were you at Good Sam or Phx Children's? My niece was born weighing 2lbs 2oz, and they put a beanie baby in with her to keep her company, and she was small than it!! Well, I pray those babies are doing well, and atleast the nice weather was probably therapeutic.

They started out at Good Sam, then were moved to PHX Childrens. I had the opportunity to see both hospitals, see the process of them being medivac'ed, adminsions, etc. At Good Sam there was another set of quads, 2 sets of triplets and several twins. All the rest were "singletons". I saw one that was under 1000 grams!

I was coming from Florida, so unfortunatly, I went to colder weather (not so therapuetic for me). Since I have been there, the girls and mommy and daddy went back home to Dallas (they relocated to Phoenix for the doctor and staff known as the "Quad God Squad"). 3 of the girls are doing awesome. The fourth has had a very tough journey, with many, many ups and owns. The long term outcome is difficult to predict. My friend feels more than blessed, and knew she had a long road ahead of her the day she decided to go against her first doctor's orders of a reduction (going from 4 embryos to 1) Once she saw the heart beats, they were her babies, and no one was going to take them away from her.

If anyone on this earth can handle what lies ahead for her and her beautiful family...she can do it. I am very proud of her.

So, if anyone has a prayer to spare, I know she could use a couple...

Kneadfulthings, having had a couple of premies myself, I understand the need for prayers. They have mine. I'm glad you were able to go see them and help celebrate, and show your love and support! Keep us posted on how the struggling baby is doing - and the others, of course!
