Looking for budgeting help

I am working on my operational budget as a means to reach my goals in 2007. I have quickbooks data going back 3.5 years. After I parse out the data, I will know my perceneforum.xxxes, but I am interested in knowing these perceneforum.xxxes (i.e; insurance, rent, cost of labor, marketing, office expenses, etc) from massage therapists who have established office/clinic practices. I would appreciate any input as it will help me bring my numbers into better alignment. I want to be able to make a living at this and I enjoy learning about this type of analysis. Mind telling me how to get this info off QuickBooks, and next time I upload info, I can try to pull some of it.

I minaly use quickbooks to input and then give it all to the accountant to check out, but it makes sense to check out the other things it does - right?!!

What I have done is to print out my P/L statement and then manually make my calculations. I gain from the process of putting pencil to paper. What I am hoping to find are the perceneforum.xxxes others have budgeted for there massage practice--regardless of the size. For example, I have read that retail establishments generally allocate 8-15% of sales/revenue for rent; for marketing the range is from 4-15% or so.

There is next to no info out there concerning professional service firms, massage clinics, etc. There has to be a few massage therapists that have built successful practices (the kind where you don't need another job for the $$) and would know there numbers. I don't mind fumbling around in the dark for a while to learn by trial and error, but if I can get a little help I'll take it.

Now I am not a big math person, so I may not be helping you in this one anytime soon, but I do think it is interesting.
