looking to sell and need some help

I'm not sure if anyone can help me with this or if I am in the right section but here it goes. My fiance and I are both registered massage therapists and we are a partnership in our massage therapy clinic. We have been practicing at this clinic for almost 3 years and over 4 years in the community we live in. We are looking at moving away and are interested in selling our practice. Does anyone know the logistics in this and how we go about starting this process.

Any help is appreciated !

Try with writing up a little 'report' about your business, how much business you see, data, info on the community, what all is included in the sale, include pics, et cetera. And bring it by some massage schools, you can have a chat with a director as well - see if they have a student placement program - offer to come speak to anyone interested. Some schools have a bullitan (my brain is blanking on the sp right now!) board with local job/business opportunities (mine did anyway) see if you can post something there. A craigslist for your area? Try contacting your local small business admin.

Maybe thats an okay place to start? If you do a search I know there is a few topics on this, since this is where I came when I thought about selling my business. I would set you up with some links but this new search engine seems to get me everytime!

How would you go about figuring out what to an asking price would be? Is is based on your yearly earnings plus the value of what is in the clinic and the potential of it?

How about contacting a real estate agent. I don't know if you own the property, but they also list businesses, don't they? Or maybe a nice real estate agent can help advise you.

Thanks for all of your feedback. I will let you all know how I figured things out here on my end of things. It has been a diffucult area to get information on so and feedback I can share to help someone else will be here! I hope to sell by the end of summer!
