A 39-year-old Chicago man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Loop massage parlor.
Anthony Winters, of the 5800 block of South Michigan Avenue, is charged with criminal sexual assault after the Feb. 10 incident in the first block of West Jackson Boulevard, authorities said.
About 2 p.m. that day, Winters introduced himself to the 28-year-old victim as her massage therapist and suggested that she undress to “her level of comfort,’’ Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Kathryn Roy told a judge during a bond hearing at the Leighton Criminal Court Building on Wednesday.
He began the massage but started touching her inappropriately and sexually assaulting her, Roy said.
After the woman “reacted in shock,’’ Winters apologized and told her he assaulted her because he found her “physically attractive,'' Roy told Judge John Lyke.
Winters was waiting for her outside a room while she dressed and escorted her out of the business. She “immediately cried out’’ to her sister and police, said Roy, and was taken to a hospital to be examined.
Winters was taken into custody Tuesday by a fugitive apprehension team, authorities said.
In court Wednesday, Lyke set bail at $10,000. Winters will appear in court again next week.
