Lordosis?

Hi,

Have been having a lot of back pains recently and mentioned it to my friend as i thought it was something to do with my stomach being swollen though she said not and mentioned hyper-lordosis.

I'll attach a picture and was just wondering what you thought. I don't want to go to the GP yet especially if it's something quite minor.

Go to the gp, thats what they are there for, they know backs and posture better than any friend and can then refer you if needed or at least put your mind at rest

Hello anzharry and welcome to Healthypages.

The link to your photo appears to be broken on my screen so it's not displayed. However, lordosis is a loose term for covers many conditions therefore it's highly unlikely that you can get a diagnosis on a public forum.

I think it's important that you see your GP, because it's important that you understand the cause and your he/she will be able to put your mind at rest.

Hi

I would certainly recommend seeing your GP to check out your swollen stomach.

For the back ache I would recommend either a chiropractor/osteopath or some the other slightly less well known treatments recommended here. In my experience both will assess your whole body and probably offer far better advice/treatment for any bio-mechanical issues (eg lordosis) that you have. Muscle imbalances can cause lordosis, so I would not rule out a good physio either.
