The first Economic Vitality Award (EVA) of the quarter was awarded to Magnolia Massage. The Economic Vitality Award is bestowed by the Economic Development Committee and it is given to Lompoc businesses that highlight the values of economic vitality and investment in Lompoc. Magnolia Massage, now located at 516 North H Street, has been serving the Lompoc community since 2012.
Magnolia Massage is owned by Marcy Bertling, CMT, a Licensed and Certified Massage Therapist since 2007. Marcy came to Lompoc in the fall of 2010 from Florida and provided massage at the Vandenberg Air Force Base Fitness Center. She also worked at Blush Spa in Buellton and the Alisal Guest Ranch Spa in Solvang. In March 2012, she chose to open her own spa in Lompoc.
Magnolia Massage has proved to be an asset to the community. Since its inception, business has grown through its client base and word-of-mouth recommendations. The growth of the business has resulting in relocation to its current location, which better suits the demands of the business.
