Makeup newbie?

I need to learn simple makeup techniques, for interview, dinners etc. Is there anywhere I can find these info online?
Is there a brand you can recommend, like a "starter kit"?

&and as a starter kit well i started off on going to a MAC counter and getting a makeover and from then i ive learned from them and on from youtubes.
the you slowing start to collect makeup.

i recommend bare minerals would be a really goo starters kit.
or any basic makeup that you can get at your drugstore such as Target,WalMart,Walgreens,etc.

the Baremineral starter kit is great. Just pick your skin tone and they send you two foundation colors to either mix or use separately, as well as a how to guide on CD, brushes and a few other things. I would expand upon that by purchasing and eyelash curler, mascara and eye liner. All of these things will smooth out your complexion, define your eyes and give you a more awake, fresh faced look. Eyeliner pencil is easier to use for beginners and its more forgiving.

Oh, and the starter kit sounds expensive, but it will last you almost a year.
