Well, he's a lawyer so he must know what he's doing.

Basically, he blackmails spammers by settling out of court in lieu of proceeding to trial for violating anti-spam laws and false advertising, but WTF are his damages other than the time to read the email and delete it? It says he has 100 email addresses. That's a wide net.

I think everyone should donate a dollar to the cause. I also think that any company sending out spam should hae a three strikes rule:

If they send a spam email to a recipient who has not opted IN to their mailing list, they should be fined $1,000.00 per email.

I know there are a lot of companies domestic that do this but there should be an international court to get the offshore companies too.

Same as those who write virus'. They should be given a choice: life in prison or have their hands amputated. I read about the guy who wrote the "I love you" virus is serving 10000 life sentences in a chinese prison. There was another one they caught in....japan? Where they traced the virus back to an internet massageplanete computer, took the security camera footage, and nabbed the guy when he came in again to upload another virus. I don't recall what or if he was convicted but I know they were charging him with 100,000 counts of malicious intent for all the computers he infected. I think each carried a 5 yr prison term.
