Does anyone have any review info on the place just South of Braker/I35. Called the Mardi Gras I believe. I believe its been there at least a couple of years.

It's been there 30 years or so under various names. Lots of history in that building including tie in's to a series of episodes resulting in the dissolution of the Austin vice squad after their commander was charged with racketeering, running a prostitution ring, oppression, extortion. and eventually convicted of multiple federal charges. At another point in time there was a girl murdered in there.

I'd stay away. Bad feng shui perhaps.

It has been there awhile then. It seems like I drive by it a lot but it doesn't seem to be very busy, I guess that may explain why. I just assumed they must have a rude, crude, mamasan at the door. When hearing about Amp place at Braker/I35 I assumed this was it. How many years ago on the vice commander? And if true about the girl, that would be bad feng shui. Thanks for info.

I googled it to refresh my memory and he was convicted in 1991. Austin's vice squad was not disbanded until 1998 it seems.

I've been probably 5 times in the past 10 years. Crappy run down lumpy couch's and the rooms are so dark you can't see anything. I made them turn the lights up. It's been a while (2 years ) since I've been there. I've never even gotten a girl to give me a HJ there. Total Jack shack and you'll be doing the jacking. I remembered they had a sign up for extra's including water sports etc...in the room. That isn't my thing but figured they'd jack me off if they would offer to piss on you. I think I even paid 200+ and still didn't get anything. No touching their pussy'd either. I don't even remember sucking their tits. It was a total rip off. It was way before I found this place and hit there early on the way to the airport at 4:30 am. They are open 24 hours is the best thing I can say about them.

A girl I know who used to work there and then became an indie said it's owned by a very old guy who won't let the girls do anything because of what happened to him with the APD decades ago. What a shame.

No wonder she became a indie. Sounds like there was no reason to work there. Is there anything worthwhile in that area. I saw today a sign that says massage on the other side of I35 in a strip center near Braker. Anyone know anything about it? Mardi Gras obviously is out, and sometimes a quick place without appt. can be nice. At least in Dallas a semi-GFE amp could be found. I have read some of the postings about amps here, and it appears grim.
