Who here has an outcall based business (or offers a lot of outcalls)?   Would you mind posting a little about how you got started, issues you have run into, do you need to market differently due to the personal nature of housecalls?  What was your very first step into the business?  WOuld you mind giving me a glimpse into your business?  I have an idea of how it works, I have done some outcall stuff for existing clients, but this is kind of a different ball game.  I have been in an office for 4 years, now I will be moving to a larger city where I doubt I will be able to afford city overhead right away, and am looking forward to the 'freedom' I feel I will find with an outcall business.  I did some research, called around and as far as I can tell I will be the only MT advertising specifically outcall massage therapy in said city ( I called every business in the phone book, asked if they offered outcall or knew of a therpist offering it, posing as a client - sneaky me!)  Im not crazy right? This is a popular thing elsewhere in the country right?!  I get crazy looks and cynical comments when I tell MT friends I am thinking of this, but I am fairly confident I am not crazy.Is it reasonable to focus on working only with women?  Couples massage available for established clients?   Thank you so  much in advance,  any and all advice with this new endevour would be greatly appreciated!  thanks!

Zen touch - Thank you for responding!   Have you had many problem with male clients?  I understand the screening process, but I am worried about those 'surprises'.  Are you selective of hotels you will go to?  (I have read some Outcall website that only go to certian hotels and Motels are not allowed ect.)   WHat are your prime business hours?   Thank you!

We do 99% outcalls.You should charge 50% more than the cost of going to a massage studio, about 30% more than going to a nice day spa.Our prime time is 3pm -9 pm - the before and after dinner business crowd. Weekends tend to be more 10 -7pm, with it pretty dead from Noon - 3.We only work with 4 & 5 star hotels - won't go to the Days Inn, Holiday Inn or budget properties at all.As for the surprises, you have to screen, screen and warn. But none of that will dissuade the jerk, which are about 1 in 150.
