vespa,
Business Card/Incentive thread may also help. I don't know that a business card size is appropriate for what you are wanting to do. I'd think it would depend on a few personal factors, but here's what I wrote in it:

I would not offer anything higher than $10 off... I did some research a few years ago (
many "off" postcards and business cards to different people/companies and businesses), and across the board, I found that I obtained more clients on a $10-off, than a $15 or $25 off... and the ones who came in for the higher discounts rarely returned.
Just an opinion.
Here is what my small "Gift Certificates" say on them. They are the size of a business card with an expiration "line" at the bottom, so that I can fill it in. All text is centered with a logo at the top on a lenghtwise business card. I know you just want something on the back of your business card, but, this may give you a few ideas on wording:
- Gift Certificate
$10 off your first one hour massage at
Expires:_______________________
(This offer is valid for ages 18 and up.)
I use these cads for golf tournaments, goodie bags, personal friends, clients, etc. They come in handy. I have also had them printed with an exact expiration date in the past, when using a large amount of them for goodie bags for running/golf events.
So, maybe you could say something like:
- We look forward to meeting you!
Please present this card for $10 off your first one hour massage at .

I gave some 'coupons' like this to my hair stylist. They were good for a 30 min massage, and the 2 people that have redeemed them have either scheduled an hour so they just had to pay the difference or they scheduled another massage. I just made some up on business cards at home. Just bought the Avery business cards and then put my logo, name, address and phone on it and that it was for as comp 30 min massage. I put an expiration on it but left it blank (ex: Expires: ___/___/___) and then I put a line for my signature to auth it. I think it's a GREAT idea! Makes him look like he is giving his clients a special gift and then I am getting new clients! Obviously not everyone is going to book an hour or rebook but at least a few will!

Just trying to find some websites for gift checks and I remembered that we had an old thread in the past that gave information on a company that made "plastic gift cards" which were not the type you would run through a credit card machine. They looked like that type, but you could put an "amount" on them and give it to the client and the client could use it toward services. It may be something else you would be interested in, but I can't for the life of me find the thread. I hope someone else on the forum can locate that thread and link. I'd like to put it in my handy-dandy info bits. Help!!! Here's how it works-->Quote:Plastic Without the Stripe. There is a plastic option that isn't as expensive as the model that works with a credit card/POS terminal. Printing plastic cards, much as you would print a business card, is possible to do in smaller quantities. You can print on both sides and use lovely designs already available. A recommended minimum is 500 cards, which will cost about $200. You may choose to imprint a set dollar value on the cards, and print a variety of denominations, or simply have an attractive card with an envelope or packaging that specifies the dollar value for the recipient. You may need to issue new envelopes with adjusted amounts if the recipient uses the card over several visits. You'll need careful bookkeeping to know what you sold to whom and for how much. A downside is some customers will expect plastic cards to function like debit cards. There's no one answer to which option is best, knowing what works for your business is key. With careful management, any gift certificate program can be the gift to a business that keeps on giving.Anyhoo, here's what one of those "gift checks" looks like... I think you could make these yourself on VistaPrint or some other "do-it-yourself" site, in the way you wanted them if you liked.

You could give a 'gift check'. Really just a good coupon, but looks like a GC. Half GC, half coupon.

Technically it is not a Gift Certificate but a coupon since it does not have a redeemable value.Coupons can have whatever conditions you want on them - especially a time limit.

Thought of this today and wanted some opinions At the "day spa" where I work there are stylists and nail techs. I was thinking of offering a coupon that they could give to their clients and see if I could get some new clients. But then I thought of something even better. What if I made them a GC that they could give to their clients. Maybe a 20 gift certificate that would expire in 2 months if not used.(I'll check again but I think in Az, a Gc can expire anytime you want. Anyone know for sure?) They would still have to pay 50 for their 1 hr session, but that would drum up some more business for me during the summer "slump". Plus it would give the girls at the spa something to give their clients as an appreciation gift. I think the GC would make the client feel more special. Or would it just annoy them that they would have to spend money to use it?Looking forward to hearing your replies! Thanks!
