I just relocated recently and would like to touch the offices that are around me....I was wondering if this sounds like a dumb idea? I want to be able to either go into the office or send a letter to the office manager (because I am not sure how to market this) and offer all employee's a 10% discount for massage services. I know the offices around me are high stress and could really appreciate massage. I do not want to offer chair massage really but will if it will be worth my time. I have in the past volunteered so much and nothing ever becomes of it. I do have a great client base but would like to be where I am booked out solid for 2 weeks.
Any suggestions on how to do this? Do I say I would like to offer all your staff a discount on massage and would it be ok if I make up some cards for them to use?

Not a dumb idea at all. I go into an accountant's office and offer chair massage to the staff. The CPA isn't interested in it for himself, but about half of his staff is and they book every 2 weeks from January 1st to April 15th. After April 15th they call when they need me, usually when big tax deadlines are coming up.

So yes, I'd pop in if possible meet and greet. Perhaps take a little chocolate treat to "sweeten" the experience, something individually wrapped so they can hand them out to everybody? If you make contact with the receptionist they can probably tell you how to bring it up to the owner of the business, maybe even get you in to see them immediately. Have your brochures and contact info written up along with a letter explaining your plan. That way it can "cover" the main points, and refresh the owner's memory later.

I would also encourage you to make the discount a conditional thing as in 4 or more employees receiving massage you will receive 10% off. (Or 5 or 6, or 10, whatever number you feel would help make it worth your while. I just wouldn't feel right giving 10% off if there was only 1 or 2 that wanted a chair massage. Then again, I really do minimal chair massage. However we do have members who do really well with chair massage so I hope that you're able to get some input from them too.)

BTW, I recall someone saying recently that they could not advertise their table massage to the chair clients in a particular business they provided chair massage in. You might want get that cleared up ahead of time just in case.

This is not dumb in any way. If you can let go of that completely and really "own it", it can be done very professionally and successfully.

The chair massage company I worked for did this in different ways... they contacted building managers for all the buildings in a certain radius around their locations, and those managers would email all of their tenants to let them know.

They also encouraged customers to put up a flyer in their break rooms.

I imagine you could probably get companies to send a mass email to their employees letting them know about you, your location, and the discount... fairly easily... companies like it because you are creating a perk that they don't have to pay for. By letting them send the email, they get to send a message that says: just for working for us here, you get a discount over there. Isn't that great? Aren't you glad you chose us as your evil corporate overlords? Ok maybe not that last part
