Markham Fallout

Although I have not been an active hobbyist for a couple of years, the news out of Markham has seriously made me re-think even the occasional bout. It just may not be worth it.

Everybody is right,this kind of stuff can happen anywhere.You can get murdered while out on a walk in the park or robbed at the local bank.When your number is up,it's up!Enjoy each day cause life is to short as it it.

This is going to have an impact on everyone, the hobbyist, the MPA, the MP owners. Like an economic downturn I think it will weed out the pretenders from the keepers. For the MPA sake, I hope personal safety will become more of a priority. From a more selffish perspective, I think it will be harder for us hobbyist to enjoy our hobby.

I would feel a little uneasy about being at one of these places that stay open until 4AM or are open all night. I understand some people work late, but even when I had a job in the 1980s with a shift that ended at 2AM, I never felt like going to a rub 'n' tug at that hour, or doing anything else except going home and sleeping.
