RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday that graduate student Yusuf Cueceoglu, of the men's soccer team, is the Massage Envy Student-Athlete of the Week.

Cueceoglu scored both goals for the Vaqueros in their 2-1 win over St. Mary's in an exhibition match on Saturday.

Cueceoglu took Kgodiso Sukati's shot off the post and sent it past the Rattlers goalkeeper to the back left corner of the net in the 11th minute.

Later in the first half, Sukati once again connected with Cueceoglu who found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and found the right side of the goal giving UTRGV the 2-1 advantage.

Last season, Cueceoglu played in 17 matches for the Vaqueros, while starting in 16 of them, has he scored six goals and recorded five assists for 17 points.

The Vaqueros will open their season on August 25 when they host Bryant at 4 p.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track. & Field Complex.
