Hello all!
I have a new client coming in tomorrow who is suffering from leg pain following a hysterectomy. When she said it had been done only three weeks ago, I mentioned that it might be too soon after the procedure for me to perform a massage. She assured me that the surgery was done laprascopically (sp?) and vaginally -- that there were no incisions. She literally begged me to set up an appointment, and I told her I would see her tomorrow and see what I could do after we do the intake.
I've hunted through some source books -- pathology and others -- and am finding little on this situation. Frankly, this is the first time this situation has come up for me and I am looking for any advice from you great and knowledgable people out there!
Even though it was done laprascopically (sp?) -- couldn't there still be an issue with blood clots? I'm hoping to at LEAST help her with some relaxation -- but will not go ahead until I hear of any precautions/necessity of contacting her surgeon etc. that you might suggest.
Thanks, gang! You are all the best! :
