I want to start using more oils and gels in my practice. Any recommendations for a good brand that won't leave my sheets stained in the shape of someone's body or a good mild oil that I can easily blend with other essential oils? A good book recommendation on the topic would be wonderful as well.Thanks in advance!!

Yes, I am a bodyworker, and I've been using Massage FX lotions.

I've only used Therapro brand massage oil.  I've used the jojoba and swedish massage oil and just recently ordered grapeseed and sweet almond oil to see if I like them better.  I use them alone as unscented and I have some that are mixed with essential oils.  I haven't seen any stains from the oils, but then again the office I work at has the sheet professionally laundered so I'm not sure what they use to wash the sheets with.

i use pure pro ultra water dispersable formula. fragrance-free, chemical-free, and nut-oil free. i like it because it's a thinner oil, and a little goes a long way. it works well for both swedish or deep.

We've actually been using the FX Massage Oil at my shop.  No problems with stains (our laundry service uses a hospital grade detergent).  We only use the oil for our Hot Stone Massage.  We use the FX Massage Cream for all other massages and I love it!  Both are really economical, too.  My mom (massage therapist also) has really severe psoriasis on her hands.  The Biotone cream worsened her condition.  FX is the only brand she can use.  Hope this helps! After more than a few years and different brands, I still enjoy using Soothing Touch Massage Products.  I especially like the Lite Therapeutic Blend.  I will order 1 gal of Almond and 1 gal of LTB and blend 1/2 and 1/2.No stains.  If you want to blend your own, you can use sunflower, almond, soy and add some fractunated coconut oil.  The fco is the ingredient that makes massage oils water dispersable.   I believe all Soothing Touch products are water dispersable???In my experience, the products that leave stains:  Sombra, PoSomOn, and Biofreeze.   On the recommendation of Consumer Reports, I started using Costco's Kirkland Free and Clear liquid detergent.  I have noticed a difference.  I also add ammonia to the wash water .  After 14 yrs of practice, my clients have not suffered any allergic reactions to the cleaning products.

I use jojoba oil from Hobacare http://www.bostonjojoba.com/ as my standard oil.  Great glide, indefinite shelf life, does not become rancid after muliple heatings, and no stains on sheets.  It's also a great carrier oil when you add EO's.Am a big fan of Weleda's Arnica oil and use it for any client who is experiencing muscle soreness or has bad bruising.  Careful with this one though...a little goes a long way and it's base ingredients are peanut and olive oil.

Another vote for Pure Pro oil, although my experience is somewhat limited. They do, however, list their ingredients on their website.

i like pure grapeseed oil with a bit of jojoba oil mixed into it. I have used Aura Cacia and also NOW, but i am sure that you can get these basic oils from several different brands.
