DENVILLE, NJ — The owner of a Morris County-based massage parlor was slammed with prostitution charges last week, authorities said.
Soon Y. Bang, 63, of Fairview, the owner of Oasis Spa at 3108 Route 10 West, was arrested and accused of promoting prostitution at the business and profiting from the sex acts performed there, officials said.
Yushun Li, 67, of Flushing, New York, an employee at the parlor, was also arrested and accused of engaging in sexual activity for money at the establishment, prosecutors said.
Police raided Oasis Spa on Feb. 20 as part of an ongoing investigation into the business. Prosecutors said they, with assistance from the MCPO and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, executed search warrants at both the massage business and the residence of the manager in Fairview.
Bang, who goes by "Cindy" but whose gender was not specified by the prosecutor's office, was found in possession of a large quantity of U.S. currency, which authorities say is indicative of prostitution.
The duo was promptly arrested, with Bang officially charged via summons complaint with third-degree promoting prostitution, second-degree money laundering, and the disorderly persons offense of engaging in prostitution. Li was also charged by summons complaint with the disorderly persons offense of engaging in prostitution, prosecutors said.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office at 973-285-6200 or the Denville Police Department at 973-627-4900.
