Massage parlor owner arrested again on human trafficking charge - Waco Tribune-Herald

The operator of two massage parlors that were raided late last year after alleged human trafficking offenses was arrested Tuesday at another massage parlor of hers, an arrest affidavit states.

McLennan County Sheriff's Office investigators learned about a possible human trafficking operation at TuiNa House, 713 Lake Air Drive., in late January, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, Chun Yang Zhang picked up a woman in Austin who she hired her for employment at TuiNa House, a massage and foot reflexology establishment.

"(The woman) stated within the first week of employment Zhang indicated she could 'touch' some of the repeat customers while demonstrating masturbation," the affidavit states. "She states that she told Zhang she would not do his and would only provide regular massages."

Zhang allegedly told the woman she was going to keep half of her pay. Since the woman declined to engage in sex acts, Zhang started to keep her entire pay, forcing the woman to live at the massage parlor, the affidavit states.

Zhang, 47, of Austin, was arrested in December after authorities raided two other Waco massage parlors that she operated at 2625 W. Waco Drive and 2509 Washington Ave. During that investigation, undercover officers stated they were offered sexual acts for additional fees, leading to detectives applying for search warrants and raiding both businesses in December.


Authorities alleged Zhang had at least three women who were living as tenants at the massage parlors. She also kept a portion of their earnings and had video surveillance systems set up in rooms that allegedly recorded the women's interactions with sex buyers, warrants state.

Detectives went to TuiNa House on Tuesday and arrested Zhang at the business. She was arrested on a second-degree felony charge of trafficking of persons and was booked into McLennan County Jail.

She remained in custody Tuesday evening. Bond information was not immediately available.
