HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The owner of a Honolulu massage parlor known for prostitution was found guilty on two counts of bribery Monday.
A federal jury found 48-year-old Biyu Situ guilty after she attempted to bribe a federal agent to give her a heads up about law enforcement raids and inspections.
Situ offered one agent up to $5,000 for protection of her spa, Blue Angel. She also offered the agent up to $5,000 to obtain citizenship without taking any citizenship tests.
The agent was bribed by Situ after two Chinese women at her massage parlor were arrested for prostitution.
Situ is the former operator of the Mayflower Massage Parlor, another spa known for prostitution. That spa was shut down due to frequent police and immigration inspections.
Situ now faces 15 years behind bars for each count. She is set to be sentenced in late July.
