Massage Parlors in Edmonton Dying or Declining?

I used to frequent the parlours and had a list of my regular ladies, as I prefer to be comfortable with someone. I also liked the large menu of services that fit whatever my budget happened to be. Could go in for a complete if I was broke, or enjoy the full deal if I was flush.

Today, those options are gone, and if you don't have $240, you're not welcome most places. Many gals also move around and don't seem intent on building a base clientele, so many times I received rushed service that I felt fell far short of the money I was paying.

So, for me, the indies filled in that gap. When I'm broke, there are options around $100 for me, and when I go all out, they offer more.

I also think there are too many mp's and not enough good providers. Many dont have affordable packages (ie wont offer anything under 240-260). And honestly there are too many ladies that think of it as easy money and dont care about giving a good level of service. The economy is what it is and i see nOthing wrong with having deals or knocking 20 or so off a session sometimes. You really get back what you put in.

I have two main problems with mps.

First: charging 200 for basic full service, 240 - 300 for some type of gfe(everyone has a different definition) and this is for one shot only. Then when you get into a session, it turns out that everything is a 50 extra.

Second: I live outside the city, and the only way I can find out what is on an mp gals menu and what she wants for donations is to drive all the way to the parlour and discuss it with her.

I almost exclusively see travelling indy gals, they either advertise their menu and donations, have a website listing their menu and donations or are willing to discuss it over the phone. My experience with the travelling gals has also been that their prices are all inclusive, including msog. And the prices they are asking are either competitive with local prices, but more often than not they are better than local prices.

So if a local mp gal is charging 300 for an hour gfe(with no kissing, daty, or msog, which means after you unload it's over, even if you only last ten minutes) and a travelling gal is charging 250 for an hour of true gfe(including kissing, daty, msog) who should I go see?

I have had great sessions with two or three mp gals, and I hope to see these ladies again, but for the most part I'll be spending my time and money on the visiting ladies.

For me I like the MP's, as I like the massage. Plus I often have a short notice timing, so booking appointments can be difficult. But it is difficult as mentioned previously to find someone who does just the basics as of course they would rather earn the bigger $$$ with full service. It would be nice if some would advertise some basix specials like April does.

for instance I offer basic services but I don't advertise it like I advertise the full service you know what I mean. Most of the time you just ask for basic service there is usually at least one girl thats on that will offer what you want My website is one of the few that offer girls contact info ... usually you can text or email a girl from my website to find out if they offer what your looking for. Lots do offer basic services.

If mp's closed down today I really could care less. Simply because I'm tired of girls using pics from 1989, random pricing for limited restrictive services and just plain miserable girls that need to leave and find a different career.

An SP I whom I used to frequent told me as well that mp's were just a form of abuse due to the drama involved when she worked there. She had gone as far to say that even if you're successful there other sp's there would make life hard for you and create alot of drama to get rid of you due to competition which ain't hard to believe.

If MP's ended today you can bet the roster of massageplanet's girls would go up tenfold which is not a problem with me as Indy's offer the better "bang" for the buck(no pun intended).

As I enjoy my job at an MP i hope they don't die off. Like militarywolf said there are alot of guys that just can't plan too far in advance or that need a pick me up that day. Before i started in this business i really didn't realize how many MPs there was in edmonton or the wide variety of both Ladies that work there and gentlemen that visit. I like the security a MP offers both for men and me. Reading the experiences some guys have had and hearing experiences some ladies have had doing outcalls i think that MPs will stick around. I haven't had any gentlemen treat me bad in a session but it is nice knowing that there is someone nearby that will hear me if i need help. LOL I'm a lover not a fighter.

I have never seen an Indy. Just got used to going to mps.. then again only been seeing gals going on oh wow.. 4 years soon.

I can't schedule being in the mood, so what the heck am I to do?
Well... I could.. but sort of defeats the purpose of it.

Sometimes I just need female attention, and being an impatient guy, I go to MPs.

Not to say, I wouldn't see Indy gals. You guys have piqued my curiosity.

As god as my witness, I love all women. I think they are so cunningly beautiful and I cannot resist spending time with them.

I'd say declining, not the death knell yet, but if they continue the path they are following it's a sure bet

1. too many studios, with no "all stars" or "new" staff to attract the pooners. The pooner vets have been to the top and don't like settling for poor or declining service from the same old, same old

2. pricing: the "industry rates" are a crock and have slowly forced many a sp to back pages because they "have" to charge the industry rate, so no to 20.00 less, and yes to 24/7 with danger Greed, plain and simple.

WHY should all sp's in the city charge the same rate, for good or bad service, the fall out is reaching home, either put some effort into the job, or sit on the couch, blank out and work BP...

Yes some guys will pay $$$$, but not every guy just spent 3 weeks in the camps and has full pockets. The times are tough, there is a recession, taxes are up, costs are up, salaries nope

3. game playing: changing menus, price gouging, services changing: gfe now means what, safe gfe? wtf?

4. the visiting sp's are either undercutting or matching the locals, we get a good attitude from someone who wants to be there, not just filling in a shift and blanking out.ar the nice hotel adds to things and their costs are comparable

plus we get to avoid all the studio drama/politics, it leaves town with them

I travel all over the country and the fact is that Edmonton mps are the most expensive option in the country for this kind of activity. Years ago they used to be one of the best values around as far as what you paid and got. Then the boom and the gradual rise in prices. If they want to be busier, all they've got to do is lower their prices and they will come. (Pun intended)

If massage parlours are still busy, it may be more the average joe. Over the past few years the independent escort scene has grown much larger than it was before. Men in the know are enjoying fabulous treatment from independent ladies, with no knock on the door at the 55 minute mark ..

Having said that there are still fabulous ladies giving stellar treatment at MPs. Heck, I've just gotten absolutely mauled by Extreme April at Studio 118. So .. my whole argument may be void. I feel many do not treat their clients they way they ought to encourage return clientele. It's those few who offer warm generous treatment that keep me coming back.
