LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Human trafficking and prostitution. Those are the accusations that led to police in Lafayette and Kokomo raiding two massage parlors this week.
Lafayette police say their Special Victims Unit raided the Royal Massage on Wednesday in the Tippecanoe County city. They led a similar raid at another spa in Kokomo with the help of Indiana State Police and several other agencies.
The raids were the culmination of a nearly year-long investigation. Detectives said the two businesses have promoted prostitution “under the guise of legitimate massage parlors.”
Lafayette police say they even arrested a man at one of the parlors. Aaron Corcoran, 40, was arrested and charged with visiting a common nuisance.
The charges are much steeper for the men who own the two massage parlors. Deyang Yu, 39, and Airu Wang, 37, have both been arrested and charged with human trafficking, prostitution, tax evasion and other financial crimes. Both were apprehended at their homes in Carmel and Zionsville.
Finally, detectives say they recovered four women from the two businesses. They say they are now getting the support and resources they need.
