The Dayton School of Medical Massage is expanding its facility on Far Hills Avenue in Kettering.
The new addition, which is scheduled to be open Nov. 30, includes a new Allied Health Wing, updated classroom space, learning resource center, administrative offices and a student lounges, according to school officials. The student massage clinic also will expand, nearly doubling its capacity from four treatment rooms to seven..
The school was open 1995 by Dayton native Bill Tahy. It now has campuses in Dayton Cincinnati, Lima and Cleveland and has graduated nearly 10,000 people, school officials said.
With the expansion, the school is launching a new medical assistant program.
“The Medical Assistant Program is such a natural progression for us,” Tahy said. “We’ve earned a reputation for training high-quality workers in the medical massage industry. With the changes in healthcare, there are many more opportunities for people to enter the medical profession… We look forward to helping people prepare for these opportunities and be successfully employed in a rewarding job. Becoming a medical Assistant is a great entry into the field.”
