The owner and the manager of a massage shop in Phnom Penh were arrested on Saturday for allegedly providing prostitution services in their establishment.

Sok Kimhour, a police officer with the anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection unit in Phnom Penh, identified the suspects as Kim Vanna, 24, and Hong Menghour, 26, respectively the owner and manager of the Favourite Massage shop in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district.

They were arrested after a police raid on their massage parlour. “They encouraged the masseuses to have sex with their client for up to $25,” Mr Kimhour said. “They then took a $5 cut on each transaction.”

The men were arrested as masseuses were caught having intercourse with their clients at the time of the police raid.

In addition to the two men, police detained five masseuses aged between 20 and 25.

Police also found evidence, such as a logbook recording the sexual transactions as well as used and unused condoms.

The two men face up to five years in jail and will be sent to municipal court for questioning today.

The masseuses will be released after having undergone rehabilitation.
