A local woman said she was the victim of sexual battery at a popular spa.
The woman said she went in for a routine massage and was violated by a man she thought she could trust.
"You can be strong and you can stand up, and you can come forward and bring people to justice," said the victim, who does not wish to be identified by WESH 2 News.
The woman is an alleged victim of a sex crime she said happened at the hands of her massage therapist at Massage Envy in Winter Garden.
"It's been so hard to do it, because it's just so scary," the victim said.
Cesar Guerrero, 26, was arrested and charged with sexual battery, according to police.
Court documents obtained by WESH 2 News indicate Guerrero was the victim's massage therapist on two separate occasions. It was on the second visit that the victim alleged he touched her inappropriately below the waist to the point where she was shaking and visibly upset afterward.
Guerrero posted bond and was released from jail.
According to court documents and an investigation by the Department of Health, Guerrero never confessed to the alleged crime, but he admitted to detectives that the victim's genitalia was exposed during the session, making it possible for him to accidentally do so.
"He can say whatever he wants. I know exactly what happened. I know there was no accident," the victim said.
Massage Envy said it strictly enforces a code of conduct and zero-tolerance policy and imposes serious consequences for those who violate them.
The following statement was issued by Massage Envy:
"The therapist at issue is no longer employed by the franchisee."
The victim filed a civil lawsuit against Massage Envy. The lawsuit is pending, along with Guerrero's next day in court for the sexual battery charge against him.
