Sheriff’s investigators Wednesday sought additional possible victims of a massage therapist charged with sexually assaulting a woman during a treatment session at her Santa Clarita home.
Daniel Holbert, 48, who has been charged by the district attorney’s office with one felony count of sexual penetration by false representation, was arrested Thursday, according to Deputy Ryan Rouzan of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
He had come under investigation following the alleged assault in March, Rouzan said.
“The victim initially met the suspect at the G Train Fitness Gym located in North Hollywood, where the suspect treated the victim for pain,” the deputy said. “After several massage therapy sessions at the gym, the suspect suggested to the victim that he conduct future therapy sessions at either his residence or hers, which would give the victim privacy that the gym setting could not provide. The victim agreed, as the suspect had been acting appropriately during all of the previous sessions at the gym.”
It’s alleged that on March 12, Holbert arrived at the victim’s home for a scheduled massage therapy appointment and, in the course of the treatment, sexually assaulted the woman.
“Detectives believe it is possible that other women have been sexually assaulted during massage therapy sessions with the suspect,” Rouzan said.
Holbert is free after posting $100,000 bail, according to sheriff’s online inmate information.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect was urged to contact the Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-5273.
