SHELTON — A New York man was arrested on a warrant early this morning charging him with sexually assaulting two women he was giving massages.

Kim Hyung, 53, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y. is being held on a $5,000 bond and will be arraigned later today at Superior Court in Derby on two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and two counts of practicing massage therapy without a license.

Two women who had been Hyung’s clients at the Coco Spa on Bridgeport Avenue made separate complaints to police in May that they were inappropriately touched during a massage, Det. Richard Bango said.

A 38 year-old woman filed her complaint on May 6 and the second victim, 36, made similar allegations to police about Hyung on May 28, the department spokesman said.

“Neither woman knew each other,’’ Bango said. “During the investigation it was discovered that Hyung did not have a license to practice massage therapy.’’

This is an ongoing investigation and the police ask if anyone experienced similar incidents to contact the Shelton police at 203-924-1544.
