HOLLADAY — Criminal charges were filed Friday against a licensed massage therapist accused of touching a women inappropriately during a massage.

Robert Henry Openshaw, 28, of Salt Lake City, is charged in 3rd District Court with three counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.

On Feb. 21, Openshaw, was giving a massage to a woman at A New Day Spa, 3975 S. Highland Drive, during which he was supposed to focus on the woman’s calves and back, according to charging documents. However, he touched the woman’ “in a manner that she felt was inappropriate and unprofessional,” the charges state.

“(The woman) did not know what to do, and waited for it to be over because she did not want to make him upset,” according to charging documents.

Prosecutors have requested he be held on $250,000 bail.

Openshaw was originally arrested and accused of sexually abusing two clients.

According to the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, Openshaw has been a licensed massage therapist since 2012 with no prior disciplinary action.
