TRENTON – A Hamilton massage therapist charged with inappropriately touching a client was admitted into the pretrial intervention program Monday, according to Mercer County prosecutors.
The program will give Wayne Watts, 66, the chance to go through a supervision and rehabilitation period. If he successfully completes that program, he could have his record expunged.
Watts was arrested in March 2015 and charged with criminal sexual contact after a client alleged she was touched inappropriately at Watt's business – Gentle Strength Massage on Quakerbridge Road. He was initially denied pre-trial intervention in April. Since then, prosecutors received, "reciprocal discovery that affected the strength of the case," Assistant Prosecutor Katie Magee said Monday.
In order to fulfill the requirements of his PTI, Watts must go through a 36-month period of supervision, have no contact with the victims, forfeit his certification to practice massage in all 50 states and complete 40 hours of community service, Magee said.
