GILBERT, Ariz. — A former massage therapist has been sentenced to five years in prison for sexually abusing multiple women in the Valley.


Raul Ochoa, 47, was sentenced in Maricopa County Superior Court after he pleaded guilty to sexual abuse, assault with sexual motivation and attempt to commit sexual assault.


Gilbert police arrested Ochoa in 2023.


The defendant had assaulted multiple clients during massages provided at two different day spas in Queen Creek and Gilbert, according to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.


One of the clients told police she felt like "she was about to be raped" as the defendant touched her, court records show.


Ochoa's employment at a Queen Creek spa ended a few months before his arrest. The offenses took place between May 2022 and February 2023.
