EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- At Monday’s City Council meeting, people spoke out in favor of potential changes to the way the city regulates massage therapists.

Under Wisconsin law, they're licensed and regulated by the state, but local regulation is still allowed.

An organization representing local massage therapists wants Eau Claire to remove the redundancies.

It also feels massage therapists are more tightly regulated than other medical and physical treatment professionals. It’s hoping all will be treated the same.
