Charles Colson
Mr. Colson, I have recently started getting massage therapy treatments from you, and each time, it was a great workout for my body. My doctor has even advised me to keep them up since he has seen the improvement in my health. He says the therapy is great exercise for me. Is he just making me feel better or is it really true?
Thank you for such a nice comment. That always completes my days. Yes your doctor was very wise to see how massage therapy is great exercise for your body. I always like to put it, let us therapists do the stretching for you.
In many ways massages are great workouts for us. During sessions, I remind clients how we manage to cause the blood to flow correctly through all systems of our body which simply keeps the cells nourished.
Even if the benefits were just these alone, we soon realize we are becoming much more healthier. But massage treatments go much further than that. They have a great way of balancing our general well, being. It plays a beneficial role in emotional stability. We learn the art of relaxation and connecting with ourselves.
It is very true that we therapists are trained in helping the client understand their body's needs and we are able to work together with the client to offer the best exercise program for themselves. Each of us are individuals who I know appreciate special attention.
I have always contended with the proven fact we all learned in massage therapy training, that when a person gets regular monthly massages, they will start looking better, and feeling better which combined will help us all last longer. The simple answer for this is because we finally took time out for ourselves.
In turn many doctors are realizing how much our health improves after massage treatments. I have several clients who have even found their health insurance companies are endorsing massage treatments.
Now all we have to do is encourage them to pay for it. Right?
Some have accepted receipts for each treatment and will reimburse a certain percentage that you paid. It is wise to check with your insurance provider if you want to start a lengthy program. Remember, they like to know it is for improving your health instead of just for the pleasure of having a massage.
Many have asked me if massage treatments are better in the winter rather than the summer months. Of course, you know my answer.
Massage therapy is greatly beneficial the entire year round. It is even comical to many because they say their emotions are different in different seasons. But after they start on a dedicated routine, they easily forget what season it is at the time.
Both men and women seem to live at such a fast pace, we therapists have a neat way of bringing you back to earth. Take the challenge and let us prove it.
