Has anyone done massage therapy parties? I'm looking for a mentor in doing this. Where have you put fliers and how much do you charge? Thanks for all your help! kim

While working for another massage office, I did work a few parties.  One was providing chair massage for guests at a baby shower; and another was providing table massage at an 80th birthday party, where all attendees were women in the family.  I had alot of fun working the parties.  The fee charged was the same as what was charged per hour in the office - $65.00/hour, with an additional $20 travel fee.  As far as advertising, a suggestion would be to list "Special Events" in any  advertising you do, i.e. brochures, business cards, yellow pages.  Define what your target market is, and then try to reach that market.  For example, is your target market bridal showers?  If so, contact bridal shops, introduce yourself, and offer an incentive for referrals.  Good luck, and let us know how it works out.

I do "pamper parties" for girls night out, bridal showers, stuff like that. Most of it is word of mouth, I do have a section in my brochure that says "ask about pamper parties". Gets 'em wondering :} I dont usually do an hour massage, unless its a small group. you can also get in touch with someone who does Mary Kay parties, or AVON, or Party Lite candles. Its always good to combine things people like, AND you get more access to customers! I have done some at my own shop on like Sundays, too. The women bring their own veggie tray, etc, I supply the "AAAAA-HHHH'sssss"

I have teamed up with a company called BeautiControl as a consultant. They offer in home SPA parties and a line of Spa, Image and Cleanser products that are out of this world. I combine my massage business with this and hold Spa shows either at my place of business or at their homes. It is a lot of fun and the products are wonderful. This company works on the order of Mary Kay and Tupperware, but you have much more fun combinding the massage and Spa products and can make money at both. At our office we offer Spa Parties where our guests receive many special ammenitites (1/2 hour massage, paraffin hand treatment, foot bath & refreshments)  All the guest truly enjoy the special treatment & we have gained many regular clients who had never had massage before attending a spa party!

We began offering this when I became an independent rep for Sensaria Natural Bodycare last year & decided to combine the two businesses... The philosophy of Sensaria is to encourage guests to develop nurturing rituals using Natural products.  I loved the products & so do my clients.   I had only been in business as a therapist for about 8 months when I was introduced to Sensaria & made the decision to become a rep.   It was a big boost to my therapy office.
