A new massage therapy practice has opened in East Grand Forks, inside Glitz Glam and Tan, 1402 Central Ave. N.W.
Northern Mandala Massage Therapy, owned by licensed massage therapist DeAnn Gietzen, opened July 1. The practice offers a variety of relaxation and therapeutic massages, from deep tissue and Swedish massages, to prenatal/pregnancy and sports massage. She is also available to do off-site massage.
โItโs amazing; Iโve been wanting to do it for a long time,โ said Gietzen, who noted that business has been steady. โI worked in health care for a long time, and I wanted to do something that is giving back to people, without necessarily being in a clinic setting."
Gietzen went to school at Josefโs School of Hair, Skin and Body, and completed a 750-hour training program. While at the school, she received training in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology, as well as clinical practice and practical application. She has successfully completed the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination offered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards. She is licensed by the North Dakota Board of Massage.
โIโm excited to be open locally in East Grand Forks and helping with different health and wellness needs of the community,โ Gietzen said.
