Maternity reflexology prices?

How much, if you do not mind me asking, do you charge for Mat Reflex - the same as basic reflexology or more?

I am in the middle of my maternity massage diploma and the tutor was saying that she doesnt charge extra for pregnancy massage but now I have started my case studies I find that the massages take up to half an hour longer than usual for a full body massage

No not at all! The more who comment the better i think! I have not done massage but I guess it would take longer and also the A&P would be more in depth???? I bet it is interesting though.

I was not sure whether to charge the same as the usual reflexology or maybe to add £5 or something. With my prices at the moment I am charging £5 extra for mat reflex but not sure if I am being fair or not to my client. What do you think? What do you think you will do when you finish your course?

It is just trying to get the fine balance of covering your time and petrol but also not giving it away for free or very little ! I am never with a client for the hour stipulated. By the time I unpack and unload, do the consultation (if a first treatment), do a check if subsequent treatments, do the treatment, have a chat to discuss any worries, etc aftercare, and then pack away i can be with a client for up to 2 and a half hours. Sometimes I just cannot get away and now many of my clients are good friends! Maybe I am just a good listener and have that kind of face people want to talk to !!! But I then get home late !!

I charge the same for all reflexology treatments, as none are longer than an hour.

Many of my clients have specific reasons for the treatments, such as my cancer clients, those with migraines, or joint problems, but they all get a full treatment, I might just spend time on different areas. I wouldn't expect a pregnant client to have anything more than my other clients, as every treatment is tailored to the client's needs.

I don't charge any extra for maternity reflex. Like aromababe said I have other clients who come for other reasons and I don't charge them any extra. The treatment I do doesn't last any longer and to be honest I find that my maternity ladies come much more frequently over their pregnancy than other clients do in the same time period so I suppose looking at it from that point of view I end up earning more money. But no I don't charge any more.

Same with pregnancy massage - I charge the same and allow the same treatment time as for other massages.

I charge the same and as bexx say's, you will no doubt see a maternity lady more frequently than others so you effectively earn more anyway.

I charge the same for maternity too, as the treatment time is the same. Maybe it might be good idea for you to think about charging a slightly higher standard rate, based on your accumulated qualifications and knowledge, rather than charge by the treatment type? Might make finances more straight forward too!

hemelgirl, might be different for you, if the actual treatment time takes 30 mins longer, I would charge more.

Since doing Moshe's course I seem to be attracting pregnant clients so much,and am offering a special price of the 6th treatment free for my maternity reflexology clients so in a way i charge less but i feel the benefits of a course of treatments is so important with pregnant clients & i find most come to me each week & a lot more than 6 times,which is great.

so i certainly wouldnt charge more,unless maybe for a house call or a hospital visit I may add a small amount to cover this. Also with my other reflexology treatments,i can take about an hour & 15 but with pg clients I am always strict & make sure i dont go over hour as i dont want to overtreat. so i know if i have a pg client I can make my appointments closer 2gtha.
