To all those interested in Maternity/Midwifery Reflexology and helping clients who are pregnant. This may be of interest to you - I have just had an email from Denise Tiran head of Expectancy Ltd.
''We will be using the new Holistic Birthing Centre in Northwich, south of
Manchester, for our courses in the north. We have a Caring for Pregnant
Clients course coming up there, but not until next May 2008. However if you
are keen to do midwifery or something similar I wonder if you would be
interested in our new Birth Support Therapist (BST) training programme which
is similar to a doula course but aims to focus on using complementary
therapies for childbirth? (details attached.
It would be wonderful if you did midwifery although, without trying to put you
off, it is difficult to get into - the BST course could help with access to
it. Midwives are not allowed to use therapies unless their maternity unit
gives permission (not all do), but if you are a birth companion, of course you
can. This may be a better way, at this early stage, of combining your two
areas of interest.
It is not possible to do the Expectancy maternity reflexology course until you
have done either the Caring for Pregnant Clients or the BST course.
do get back to me if you would like more info.
regards
Denise ''
Good luck to all those wishing to train in this field thought this may be of interest.
Kind regards
Tracey
