MBS - Cambridgeshire

Hi, not sure where to post this.

Do you think that the MBS are worth going too? Holistic therapies are quite new to me and wondered whether it was worth travelling to such an event. With some of the events do you pay, ie for example do they have taster sessions. I am thinking of possibly going to the one in Cambridgeshire but just on the Saturday that way will only need accomodation one night.

I have been to the Chilford Hall MBS event on several occasions as it is only about 10 miles away from where I live. I really enjoy going particularly for the workshops that they have running during the day. Most of the workshops are free but some do charge £5 entry fee. They usually have a really good selection of all different stalls including some taster treatments and it also draws in a large crowd. I think there is usually a small charge for the taster treatments for instance Reiki has approx £5 charge in the previous events. There are lots of free demonstrations taking place during the day though so it doesn't have to be too expensive. Hope this helps.

There are several places around that you can stay. Cambridge which is probably about 15 miles but would be expensive staying in city. The two places nearest the event are Linton and Balsham both of which are fairly small villages so it depends if you will be looking for other things to do while your there or really just somewhere to crash. In Balsham there is a pub called the Black Bull which is nice and they may do b&b they do nice meals as well so you would be able to eat there in the evening. If you put in a google search bed and breakfast for 'Linton Cambridgeshire' there is quite alot that comes up . If you want to stay in a Hotel there is one at Haverhill which is about 15 miles called the Days Inn and also a Travel Lodge at the four went ways Cambridge. The Cambridge Travel lodge is not in the City Centre so nice and easy to find and is also on the Chilford Hall side of Cambridge. If you need any more info just let me know

Thanks for info. I see that i can't send you a pm yet. I have possibly found somewhere, but as you are local ish to the area, do you know Chequer Cottage (heard any good/bad reviews on it). Its in horseheath.

Hi Jane I was actually going to send the link for Chequer Cottage as I noticed it on the google search and thought it looked nice. I can't recommend it though as I don't actually know any one who has stayed there. Horseheath is quite nice though, it is just a small village but central for the MBS event, Haverhill and Cambridge.
