I was wondering, can some one in Queensland. Own more than one brothel. I was thinking to myself that some one could start a chain. You know, a bit like Mc donalds. That would give a hole new meaning to the name Big Mac.

No, if u hold a brothel licence then you can only hold one, I am pretty sure it means u can't hold one on any other state too tho I am not 100% sure on this. you can't hold a liquor license and a brothel license at the same time either and I think both of these conditions apply to members of yr family or spouse's family.

It would be quite interesting to see if some of these conditions would actually hold up if tested against the trade practices act and I guess some of these things will get tested eventaully by default as silly advertising restrictions etc get tested over time

In reply to your query. Yes - you can only hold one licence in Qld. However, you can own a legal brothel in any State or indeed 10. 20 or more throughout Australia and you would still be able to own one in Qld.

Actually, you may only hold one licence in Victoria, and can not have any interest in (eg. be in a business partnership with, or be a spouse or domestic partner of an individual who holds a licence to provide prostitution services) another.

I only know the legislation pertaining to Qld...and I was trying to make the point that you could own any amount of brothel's interstate (subject to that State's limitations) and you can apply for a licence in Qld, and as long as you met the requirements you would be issued a license - but one only in Qld. (which belongs to you as an individual and is not transferable and which you have to apply yearly for renewal)...
