Yes, I definitely know that I wouldn't be crossing lines with a PT. ย I actually was in PT school before I became an MT. ย I tore up my knee (and getting burned out) and had to change fields because of the way my program for school was set up.The PT's that I used for rehab actually want to send me business!!! ย So I would just be assisting those patients in their rehabilitation when their PT runs out, or to deal with all the postural distortions and pain that have come about due to their injury or surgery. ย PT actually doesn't have time to deal with the whole joint or the whole body when that patient is in their office... with my rehab they only did a minimal amount of cross fiber friction in the major location of my pain. ย Once I started getting my entire leg, especially my quads and hams massaged I felt a LOT better.I also have Chiropractor that referrs me patients already, so I am at the point where I probably could have a lot of potential if I quit my job at the spa and solely work on privates in my OWN office, doing the work that I really want to do!As for insurance billing I definitely need to take a class on that, since right now I deal with a cash business only. ย Actually I hesitate to even look into reimbursement... when I was going to be a PT they are running away from it, and we are all running to that direction... odd isn't it?Mush: ย I have not yet taken the lymphatic drainage class, and may look into it further down the line when I need to take more CEU's and have the money to take the Vodder class. ย Right now it is just too much money and I would prefer to deal more with Orthopedic issues. ย I really appreciate every ones advice!
