Hi - I am just starting out in my reflexology training - could anyone please tell me if there are any contra-indications to treating clients who are menopausal, especially if they are taking HRT? Thanks..

Symptoms of menopause usually respond well to reflexology as it's a very balancing treatment, whether or not the client is taking HRT.

Don't know how long you've been studying, but one of the first things you should cover are contra-indications to the treatment, before you give anyone a treatment.

It wasn't ever mentioned as a contra-indication when I trained and can only think it is beneficial. Just becoming more aware of one's own health through the process of complementary therapies is a huge help. As reflexology brings about a state of balance in all the systems it can only be beneficial.

You wil find that there are very few real reasons not to give a treatment.
