metamorphic technique

Hi all
Has anyone got any experience in the metamorphic technique and is it good for pregnancy.
I have a client who is 36 +4 weeks pregnant and she wants to avoid being induced at 38 weeks and hopes reflexology will induce her! I have only ever worked on 1 client before once when she was 38 weeks pregnant just to relax her prior to giving birth so do not really have much experience with pregnant clients. I am doing the mat reflex course in Jan with Moshe so I will learn more there but still a little nervous.
Any suggestions. I have heard it works the spine and spine only but as I am not qualified in the MT I am not sure if I can use it or whether there are special courses for this too!

There are special courses for the Metamorphic Technique, although it was developed by a reflexologist, it is separate from reflexology. We work on the spinal reflexes of the feet, hands and head (using a light touch, there is no deep pressure at all), but a VERY important component is the detachment of the practitioner. It isn't simply about working on those spinal reflexes and nothing else, otherwise practitioners wouldn't need to train in it, and you would simply be doing a shorter form of reflexology.

I've used it on pregnant women, during labour(once) and on newborn babies. The aim is not to induce or speed up anything, but what it will do is bring about whatever is right for that person. So an MT session will either enable your client to go into labour early because that is what's best for her and her baby, or she will feel at peace with the longer wait and with whatever outcome results because she will know that that is what is best for her and her baby. So what MT does is help bring about the peaceful certainty that whatever happens, that is what is perfect. And in my experience, women who have MT during pregnancy tend to have easier labours and the babies are more peaceful too.

If your client can find an MT practitioner in your area (the website of the Metamorphic Association www.metamorphicassociation.org has a list of practitioners) she and her baby would really benefit.
