Mexican resort happiness

hey y’all.
About to head out on my annual vaca to Mexico and have never indulged on the in house massages.
Curious if there are options for extras and what the protocols are for thos places.
It just seems obvious that this would be an option, no?

If you are staying at the best all inclusive resorts, unfortunately, you will be disappointed at the in house spas. Can't blame them, the resorts are managed carefully by big firms usually from Spain, and there is not much leeway for the ladies who value their jobs. A better solution is to have a conversation or two with a taxi driver. Not sure where you are heading to. Do you speak some Spanish?

Also, in a larger town/city, the bars that fill up with office girls after work are a better place as long as you know how to stay safe. Many of these very fine women enjoy the company of foreigners in their spare time. But this does not happen at a resort as entry is tightly controlled.

The resort spas are also expensive. There are massage parlors in a lot of these areas but you have to be careful that you are in a tourist area of the town/city. Be safe.

Yep I can confirm this, I tried the last time I was at a resort, it was about $100 canadian for the massage, and I had to be draped. Unfortunately I was with family on the trip so going for an offsite adventure wasn't an option.

Damn. Was what I thought but hoped their was some sort of code word and a 20 you could slip the concierge to find happiness.
I’m going with the family as well so no offsite adventures for me.
Maybe I’ll just pitch a tent and see what the masseuse does or says.

If you're going to Ixtapa, there is a group of tents set up on the beach near the resort hotels where you can get an excellent deep tissue massage for $20 US. My S.O. and I went every day we were there. Although, the oil was very thick, and of course, sand gets all over you. But then you just run into the ocean to rinse. Vgvfm.

Many of the resort area beaches in Mexico, such as the ones mentioned by DG, or in the Riviera Nayarit zone north of PV have these massage tents/cabanas right on the beach. Prices are very reasonable, massages are usually good, but the setting does not work for any fooling around. Also, the masseuses are usually Mexican Olgas, so not particularly sensual. In towns like PV, there are several spas, mostly just legit. I accidentally found a French Canadian masseuse in the town of Bucerias 3 winters ago (she was supplementing her resources while on 4 month vacation by giving massages at the condo she was renting) which led to other things. But that was sheer chance and a YMMV thing. For someone seeking a smorgasbord of choices, I would suggest Panama or cities in Colombia amongst S.American destinations.

Thanks for the great feedback y’all! I hit up one of the Cabana beach masseuses for some cheap relaxation. It just leave me more envigorated on my return. Damn I may even go on a tour of those I’ve yet to meet.
