MIDVALE, Utah (KUTV) — Authorities on Thursday released details about a murder in Midvale, where a massage therapist was found dead in early January in what police have called a "brutal homicide."
According to a statement from the Unified Police Department, the victim, whom they have previously identified as Yuping Jia, 45, was "brutally attacked and stabbed multiple times" sometime in the afternoon and early evening hours of Jan. 4. at A+ Massage on State Street.

Police stated Yuping, a Chinese immigrant, had been stabbed sometime between 1 - 7 p.m. that day.
"The circumstances surrounding this heinous crime are deeply concerning," according to UPD's statement. "The victim was working alone at the time, and the motive for the homicide remains unknown."
