So, another day, another heartache…Oh, wait, wrong story.
Ok, another day, another backache. A motorcycle accident and a back/neck injury suffered on the job a few years ago has left me with on and off back pains over the years. This has been to the extent of nights that I’ve been kept awake, and not for fun reasons. Add in years of playing hockey (here and overseas) and other contact sports against bigger and meaner guys, and you can see where this is going.
With my back acting up again and a series of sleepless nights, I was starting to feel as old as some of you guys look. I made a call to Brazil (the girl, not the country, because I speak Spanish like a gringo) to see if anything could be done. She was very pleasant on the phone and I was lucky enough to get an appointment the same day. Her location is not too hard to find, and I’m glad that I found it on the first try because being a guy, I couldn’t stop to ask for directions if I got lost.
Just in case anyone is wondering, Brazil is the real thing. She’s currently studying and taking her RMT courses and it shows. I was able to talk to her using terms in anatomy/physiology referring to the thoracic area in the vertebral column, the scapular girdle, the associated muscles, etc. Having been to a fair number of physiotherapists, chiropractors and massage therapists over the years, I think I can give a quasi-qualified recommendation on this. Not only was she able to work on an otherwise stubborn back, she was able to make some great progress. In fact, she was also able to work out a couple glitches in my neck as well. Her knowledge is excellent and she takes great care in her work. I also have to add that she’s got these amazing soft hands and great smile that are just unbelievable. Not only that, she’s a charm to talk to and not too hard on the eyes either. I might just have to find a way to “accidently” throw out my back…
Unfortunately, she had to put up with my fat ass, superior non-athletic build, anti-chick repulsing physique and junk yard dog looks. In fact, I think both of us were glad that I was face down for most of the massage so that nobody got scared and no-one had to pull the paper bag over my face (would’ve been kinda hard to breathe, I imagine). Heck, when I saw myself in the mirror on the way down the elevator I even gave myself the dry heaves. Which reminds me that there was this gorgeous girl in the elevator from Quebec with a stunning smile and a sexy accent. Had a quick chat with her in the elevator and asked her what she was up to and she said she was going for a run, but I knew she was just politely saying, “Oh my god, what bridge did you crawl out from and I’m going to run away from you now” in a sexy French accent, of course…
Oh, and rates as quoted on Brazil’s massage thread for the basic massage which was $80 and the one that I opted for. Contact info and nice pics are there as well…
