Mobile Reflexologist Advice Needed

Hi

I'm after advice from anyone who does reflexology mobile.....

I am setting up a mobile business and one of my treatments will be reflexology, however, I am a bit concerned about how to set up for the treatment in someone's house. Would you take a portable couch and set it up (although they may not have room for this) or is it best to let them sit in their chair and take a foot stool and work from the floor.......?? I need something that will be comfortable but practical.

Any help would be really really appreciated as I haven't even advertised yet and I already have 3 clients wanting to book appointments!

Two words "Lafuma Chair" it is a reclining deck chair which seems to have been adopted for reflexology. Folds, lightweight and very comfy! A kitchen or dining chair will almost certainly be available wherever you gofor yourself to sit on.
They are widley available on the internet. I got mine on Ebay.

I've been looking on E-bay for a lafuma chair and there's only one on there - does anyone know where else i can get one from that won't be too expensive?

Do the feet come right up Rakhee, like a La fuma.

The only thing I would say is that I've done over 1,000 treatments using my Lafuma and its still in perfect working order, very sturdy. I've got the lightweight one very good for mobile. I regularly check all the nuts and bolts as some of my clients are very heavy

If you're short of equipment and doing a fairly informal treatment, one option is to have them lie on the sofa - you should find the feet are at the perfect height to work if they are over the arm of the chair at one end!

They offer different styles and colours. I also bought the ankle booster cushion and bag. They also offer a starter pack. You also get a 5% discount ifyou buy a couple of items. I have bought a Lafuma and was thinking about buying the ankle bolster thing - at the moment I am using a pillow. Could you tell me a bit more about it, eg:

Is the bolster soft or firm?
Is it comfortable?
Can it be attached to the chair?
Do you think its a good investment?

Hi Sandra

I really like mine and wouldn't be without it now. It costs around £10. It comes with a removable sleeve, great for washing. It's quite firm and because of it's shape makes it easy to work on the feet (easier than using a pillow I'd say). Unfortunately it doesn't attach to the chair, and the first time I used mine it fell through the gap. I have since made some velcro straps, which work really well. Would definately recommend getting one.
