Mobile spa in Massachusetts

Hi all!

Does any anyone have any advice on how I should proceed with this idea? Whenever I call the board of cosmetology, I get different answers.

They said that MTs can't make massage housecalls anywhere in the state (which is untrue as MTs are currently licensed by town). They also said that estheticians, cosmetologists and nail techs can only perform services at a salon/spa.

Does anyone have any knowledge of/experience with mobile spas in Massachusetts and can shed some light on the issue?

Hi there!

I'm in a similar boat here in Michigan; and altough I don't know if it's the same across the country, I do know that cosmetology (mani/pedi/facials) cannot be performed outside of a salon/spa setting in this state. And, well, that bites because clients desire those services in the privacy of their homes as well.

However, don't stop looking! Contact various companies across the states and "interview" them to learn about some of the ups and downs they went through before landing on somewhat solid ground; keep contacting cosmetology schools; ask questions, seek answers, and get messy! (A little "The Magic Schoolbus" for ya!)
