Money Back Guarantee

Does anyone offer a Money Back Guarantee for Massage Services or has anyone ever offered a Money Back Guarantee for Massage Services and stopped doing it because they got burned too many times? For those who are offering it, is it really making a large difference in getting business? Is it wise to offer it for outcall services? Thanks in advance for input.

Anyone in the service industry would be foolish not to refund money to a client dissatisfied with the service received.

But without objective criteria by which to judge satisfaction/performance - ie: 30 mins or less - anyone in the service industry would be even more foolish to advertise a money back guarantee. You become a jerk-magnet!

I agree with R&R 100%. I would refund money to a client who had any type of bad experience.

But I would NEVER, EVER advertise any type of money back guarantee. I thought about it for 5 seconds when I was just out of school and I ahd visions of people just wanting a free massage. I worked in retail/customer service for a few years and I have some stories to tell you of what people try to pull off just to get free stuff.

Every year I have to tweak my GC policies and referral program b/c ALL THE TIME someone tries to find a loophole and they are very inventive.

IMO, you'll get burned quickly and end up doing a lot of free massages.

I also agree with R&R and Anastasia that you don't want a dissatisfied client. While we don't offer a refund (that would violate the 1st Rule of Aquisition) we do make it up to the client by giving them another massage. I would also worry that offering their money back would only encourage those looking for a free massage.

I do believe though that we do have a few posters on the board who do advertise a money-back guarantee. Perhaps they will share their experiences.

I've been offering a guarantee since I opened 3 years ago. It's on my business cards but not a big promotional thing. The only condition I put on it is that they let me know before the massage is over if it is not working for them. That is the key I think. that they can't just get the whole massage and then say they didn't like it. They actually have to speak up before hand. It helps with communication too.

I do bring the guarantee up when people call if they sound unsure, either because they have not had massage before or have had a bad experience. So far nobody has taken me up on it but if they did I would be fine with it.

I know when I've gotten massage I can tell in the first 10 minutes or so if I'm going to like it.
