Another lawsuit has been filed in the wake of assault allegations at a local massage parlor.
Several weeks ago, police arrested Cesar Guerrero, 26, charging him with assaulting clients at the massage parlor where he worked. Now, more accusers have come forward.
WESH 2 News spoke to one of the women, who claimed she was sexually assaulted by Guerrero while getting a massage at Massage Luxe in Winter Park. More alleged victims have also come forward in Clermont, claiming they were assaulted at a spa there.
Police in Orange and Lake counties are now investigating accusations by a total of six women, who claim Guerrero sexually assaulted them while giving massages at local spas.
"At this point, there's one criminal case, and we urge Lake and Orange County officials to bring additional charges," said attorney Adam Horowitz.
Guerrero was arrested in December on charges he sexually assaulted a female client at Massage Envy in Winter Garden. Since then, four other women claimed they were assaulted by Guerrero at the Hand and Stone Spa in Clermont and one at Massage Luxe in Winter Park. That alleged victim didn't want to show her face, but she and her attorney announced on Tuesday they are filing a civil lawsuit against Massage Luxe.
"I was sexually assaulted by Guerrero and left that session confused as to what to do," said the victim, who wants to remain anonymous.
The attorney representing three of the alleged victims said his clients are suing the spas involved, because they believe they should have done more detailed background checks on Guerrero.
The alleged Winter Park victim said she's a professional psychotherapist, and despite her training, she hesitated to speak out. She hopes more women will come forward.
"I'm here as a professional to say, even I didn't step forward. I was confused. I kept dialoguing in my mind. Was this real or not?" the victim said.
Guererro pleaded not guilty in one case in which criminal charges have been filed. His attorney said he maintains he is innocent.
