Mother's Day

Does anybody work on Sundays?  I do and will be open for Mother's day (this will be my first) and I'm not sure if its a slow or busy day.  I was thinking of giving each mom that is scheduled on mother's day a bouquet of flowers and a scented candle.  I will also have a few different floral scented massage oils to choose from.  Does anyone do anything special for the mom and dad holidays?  Do you get alot of moms and dads on these days?  I'll do something for the dad's day,  but not sure what little treat to give fathers, but i know it won't be a tie.   ;D

What an idea....I never work Sundays...but I may change my policy only (and I mean ONLY) for Mother's day...I think they deserve it (gee, I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that I'll become a mother in a few short months  : ) Who knows...it may draw in more regular business. I work most Sundays, have for a while now. I dont work on Mothers Day, though. My clients would riot if I did  lol  (they look out for me) I am putting together something special for Mothers Day, not sure what it will be, though. I usually put together a special package for them. A bouquet of flowers may be a bit much, I think a nice single carnation or something like that would be a special touch without you going broke.   Keep in mind that alot of moms will be spending the day with their families, and may not be able to make it that actual day, but you can still have the special offer for them.

At the salon where I work, we're talking about putting together a package of 1/2 hour massage, 1/2 hour mini-facial, and a haircut/style for under $100.  I almost wish I didn't work there so I could take advaneforum.xxxe of it!!  ;DWe haven't worked out the details yet, but that's what we'd like to do.  And we'll be doing it on Saturday - we're not open on Sunday.

I'm not sure how busy mom's day will be as, the owner said she has never been open for mom's day, but said if I would like to work, go ahead and she'll note it on the sign outside.   I don't plan on getting crazy with the bouquet, we have a discount store that sells bouquet of flowers that go 2 for $5 and I was going to buy a couple and break them down to a smaller bouquet and tie a ribbon around it.  Scented candles I saw at the craft store 4 pk for $2.97.  I only have 5 appts on sunday, so i would only need 5 of each.  I know alot of mom's would spend time with there families, but there are also mom's who don't have family around, but the kids and husbands can purchase the gift certificate for them and the mom can spend an hour getting a massage.   i'm not a mom and my mom lives out of town, so i will be available, just another Sunday to me.
